In the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, there are the slums of Soot Mil and Jhalana, where more than 14,000 people live in extremely harsh conditions. Among them are about 40 widowed women who need special care. Some are simply asking for a roof to protect them from the rain, while others need help to ensure their children can receive an education. Together with NGO Faith Aaligan, supported by Arms Around the Child (https://lnkd.in/eRiAzt6f), we launched a project called “Fund a Mum.” The Rotary Club Fenice, District 2031 (https://lnkd.in/eX3-kDcr) is supporting this initiative with physical meeting and interviews in the slum and about 3.000 usd funding. Most of the required funding are for children education.

NGO Faith Aaligan has a strict procedure for selecting the projects it supports. The process starts strictly from the identified needs. Several interviews were conducted in the slums with the impacted widowed women. Requirements were collected, and quotations were requested for budgeting purposes.
